Schools Inclusion Program

Education and Community: Planting seeds of inclusion and sustainability in the next generation

Watch Jamie Durie explain the benefits of Bushlink’s Schools Inclusion Program

Bushlink doesn’t just work in bushland, we also bring our expertise and passion to school grounds and classrooms, where we help nurture a culture of inclusion, environmental care, and community engagement.

Our Schools Inclusion Program is an impact-driven initiative that connects Bushlink teams with local schools across the Northern Beaches and beyond. Together with students and teachers, our supported employees undertake hands-on environmental projects that make a difference, both to the environment and to the school community.

What We Offer:

  • Hands-on engagement: Engage in hands-on gardening and bush regeneration activities, helping students to connect with and learn about their school's vegetation community. Students' learning experience is enriched through practical, nature-based activities such as; watering plants, pruning bushes, clearing leaves, mulching, planting or weeding.

  • Interactive Garden Clubs
Fun and educational gardening sessions where students and Bushlink team members plant vegetables, herbs, and native plants, learning about biodiversity and sustainability in an inclusive setting.

  • Education Support & Sustainability Workshops
Bushlink collaborates with schools to deliver curriculum-linked environmental education and inclusion awareness activities. These workshops help embed sustainability and inclusion in the school culture.

  • School Grounds Maintenance
Our teams help maintain and beautify school grounds through mulching, weeding, planting, pruning, and more. We work alongside students or independently, depending on school needs.

  • Community Partnership Activities
We support whole-school and community events, such as Clean Up Days, recycling drives, and native habitat projects. These activities build stronger connections and offer meaningful inclusion experiences within the school and wider community.
