We are delighted to announce Mike Baird as Ambassador for Bushlink. As reported in today’s Manly Daily.
FORMER premier Mike Baird has been announced as ambassador for Brookvale-based group Bushlink.
The group is operated by not-for-profit organisation Northside Enterprise Incorporated and offers employment to people with intellectual disabilities in bush regeneration programs.
“In my role post politics I am very keen to work with a few groups and try to make a big difference with them,” Mr Baird said. “My heart has always been captured by Bushlink.
“It is an incredible program that connects those with intellectual disability who are often marginalised and not included in day-today community life and they come front and centre both with employment and also relationships.”
He was joined by students from Manly Village Public to encourage more schools to take on the program.
Mr Baird, the former state MP for Manly who stepped down in January, 2017, said he was also having his leadership team in his new role at NAB in a corporate volunteering experience at the Q Station.
We also enjoyed catching up with James Griffin MP, Member for Manly and the Manly Village Public School Captains.
A heartfelt thank you to Mike and his team from all the Bushlink crew!
